Event Registration Terms & Conditions

These Event Registration Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to registrations for classes, workshops, seminars, training programs, and other events offered by Hand Up LLC (“Hand Up,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By purchasing a registration, accepting a transferred registration, or attending a Hand Up event, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to these Terms.

Registration and Payment

Registration is confirmed upon successful payment and is subject to availability. Event capacity may be limited, and Hand Up does not guarantee availability until registration is completed.

The purchaser is responsible for providing accurate registration and contact information. Hand Up may use the information provided during registration to communicate information reasonably related to the event, including tickets, confirmations, schedule changes, reminders, venue information, and other event-related communications.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

A purchaser may cancel a registration and request a refund until seven (7) calendar days before the scheduled start of the event.

Registrations canceled fewer than seven (7) calendar days before the event are nonrefundable.

Failure to attend an event, late arrival, early departure, or failure to complete the program does not entitle an attendee to a full or partial refund.

Any refund approved under these Terms will be returned through the original payment method when reasonably possible. Processing times may depend on the payment processor or financial institution.

Registration Transfers

If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another person rather than canceling it.

The original purchaser must notify Hand Up before the event and provide the replacement attendee’s name and requested contact information so that Hand Up can update its attendee and check-in records.

Hand Up does not broker, collect, process, guarantee, or otherwise participate in any payment between the original purchaser and the replacement attendee. If the parties agree that the replacement attendee will reimburse or pay the original purchaser for the registration, that transaction is solely between those individuals.

A transfer does not create an obligation for Hand Up to issue a refund to the original purchaser.

Event Changes, Rescheduling, and Cancellation by Hand Up

Occasionally, circumstances may require Hand Up to modify an event. Hand Up reserves the right to make reasonable changes to an event's schedule, venue, instructors or presenters, agenda, course content, format, or other event details.

If Hand Up reschedules an event, existing registrations may be honored for the rescheduled event. If an attendee cannot reasonably attend the rescheduled date, Hand Up may provide a refund or other reasonable registration option.

If Hand Up cancels an event and does not reschedule it, registration fees paid to Hand Up for that event will be refunded.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hand Up is not responsible for an attendee’s incidental or consequential expenses resulting from an event cancellation, postponement, or modification, including travel, lodging, transportation, meals purchased independently, lost income, or other personal or business expenses.

Photography, Video, Audio, and Media

Hand Up events are professional-development events and may also be environments in which photographs, video, audio, interviews, demonstrations, social media content, educational content, or promotional material are created.

Attendees should expect that photography, video recording, and audio recording may occur during an event.

By attending a Hand Up event, you authorize Hand Up LLC and its authorized representatives to photograph, film, or record your appearance and voice while you are present at the event and to use resulting photographs, video, audio, or other recordings for legitimate business purposes, including Hand Up websites, social media accounts, educational materials, advertising, marketing, promotional materials, event recaps, and other Hand Up content.

You understand that such materials may be edited, reproduced, published, distributed, displayed, or otherwise used in any media and that you will not receive compensation or royalties for such use.

Hand Up will not intentionally imply that an attendee endorses Hand Up, a product, service, sponsor, or third party merely because the attendee appears incidentally in event media.

When Hand Up seeks to create a dedicated testimonial, endorsement, or similar promotional statement specifically featuring an individual attendee, Hand Up may request separate consent when appropriate.

Attendee Conduct and Removal

Hand Up seeks to maintain a professional, productive, safe, and respectful environment.

Attendees may not engage in conduct that is threatening, violent, harassing, discriminatory, intentionally disruptive, unlawful, or that materially interferes with the event, instructor, venue, staff, or other attendees.

Hand Up reserves the right to remove an attendee when Hand Up reasonably determines that removal is necessary to protect the event, its participants, its personnel, or the venue.

An attendee removed for misconduct or material violation of these Terms is not entitled to a refund.

Educational Purpose; No Guarantee of Results

Hand Up provides education and professional development. The information, strategies, examples, materials, discussions, and opinions presented during an event are provided for educational purposes and should not be understood as individualized legal, tax, accounting, financial, or other licensed professional advice.

Attendees remain responsible for their own professional decisions and for determining whether particular practices comply with laws, regulations, professional standards, brokerage policies, platform requirements, or other obligations applicable to them.

Hand Up does not promise or guarantee any particular business result, financial result, transaction volume, lead generation, social media performance, audience growth, income, sales, or other outcome from attending an event or implementing information presented during it.

Intellectual Property and Course Materials

Unless otherwise stated, course materials, presentations, workbooks, graphics, exercises, frameworks, videos, and other materials provided by Hand Up remain the intellectual property of Hand Up LLC or their respective rights holders.

Attendees may use materials provided to them for their own personal or professional learning purposes.

Unless Hand Up provides written permission, attendees may not reproduce, sell, republish, distribute, upload, commercially exploit, or create substantially duplicative training products from Hand Up course materials.

Attendance at an event does not transfer ownership of Hand Up intellectual property to the attendee.

Recording by Attendees

Attendees may take reasonable photographs for personal use unless instructed otherwise.

Recording an entire class, presentation, or substantial portion of an event by video, audio, livestream, screen capture, or similar means is prohibited without prior permission from Hand Up.

This provision protects both Hand Up's educational materials and the privacy of other attendees.

Personal Property and Assumption of Ordinary Risks

Attendees are responsible for their personal belongings and for exercising reasonable care while participating in an event.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hand Up is not responsible for lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged personal property unless caused by conduct for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Attendance at an in-person event involves the ordinary risks associated with travel, entering a venue, moving through the premises, interacting with other attendees, and participating in event activities. Attendees are responsible for determining whether they can safely participate.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive or limit any right or liability that cannot legally be waived or limited.

Venues and Third Parties

Some Hand Up events may be conducted at facilities owned or operated by third parties or may include sponsors, vendors, speakers, or other independent businesses.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, those parties are independent from Hand Up. Hand Up is not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, products, services, policies, or representations of unaffiliated third parties.

Attendees must comply with reasonable rules imposed by an event venue while on the premises.

Accessibility and Accommodations

Hand Up wants its events to be accessible to participants who require reasonable accommodations.

Attendees requesting an accommodation should contact Hand Up as early as reasonably possible before the event. Hand Up will make reasonable efforts to address accommodation requests consistent with applicable law and the capabilities of the event venue.

Force Majeure and Circumstances Beyond Hand Up's Reasonable Control

Hand Up will not be responsible for failure or delay in holding an event when caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disaster, governmental action, public emergency, widespread transportation disruption, utility failure, venue closure, or similar circumstances.

When reasonably practicable, Hand Up may reschedule the affected event, provide an alternative means of participation, issue a credit, or provide a refund as appropriate under the circumstances.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hand Up LLC's liability arising from an attendee's registration for or participation in an event will not exceed the amount actually paid to Hand Up for that attendee's registration for the event giving rise to the claim.

This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute relating to these Terms or a Hand Up event will be subject to applicable Indiana law and brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Indiana, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law or severed as necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

Changes to These Terms

Hand Up may update these Terms periodically. The Terms applicable to a registration are generally those in effect at the time the registration is purchased, except where a change is required by law or is reasonably necessary to administer the event.
